Is the American Dream Overindulgence and Greed, or Simple Life?

A simple, comfortable life. I could never be greedy and overindulgent.

The American Dream was *freedom from* oppression, and to be able to work hard and honestly and raise oneself up.

The American Dream for many has become *freedom to* do whatever they feel like, to have fame, power, and/or fortune, and to have little or no responsibility.

america has become a nation of whiners and Starbucks drinking emotion driven “im entitled” people. that means their is no room for a simple life(it’s looked down upon to be simple)

The American Dream is making your life however you want to, whether it is being filthy rich or just living comfortable

Freedom to pursue your life, liberty, happiness.
If that is what they want to pursue, that is their RIGHT.
No one has the right to stop them. We have checks and balances for that sort of thing. It’s called “competition”.

I think for Obama, his family and his cronies it is Overindulgence and Greed. The media is comparing him and his family to the Kennedy’s Camelot story. Look how all the Kennedy lives turned out. One tragedy after another! But that’s what overindulgence and greed will get you – nothing but doom and dispair.
