The Benefits of Lemon Water – A Simple Way to Improve Your Life

By Ezday On March 9, 2009 Under Ezday

Lemon water is truly beneficial in any beauty care regimen. Lemon and water both have clarifying actions in your body and help to flush out toxins. The combination makes a great alternative to sugary drinks that have loads of calories and pack on pounds.

Although lemons are very acidic by themselves, they are in fact very alkalizing in your body. If your diet is mainly comprised of the Standard American Diet, most of the foods you’re eating are acidic. This poses a problem because your body strives to be alkaline. Instead we bombard our systems with too many acidic foods and drinks. Over time, the acidity in your body can lead to long lasting detrimental effects on your health.

Lemons have been a staple food since early times. Although they are a food product, they have a wide variety of uses. They are typically used for lemonade, mixed drinks, cleaning products, cooking, garnishes, and air fresheners. It has been said that when the world gives you a bunch of lemons, you should make some lemonade! Why not make lemon water instead!

Lemons are an excellent source of Vitamin C. They can hasten wound healing, prevent and treat many infections, and diminish allergies. Lemon juice also relieves symptoms of asthma, tonsillitis, and sore throats. Lemons stimulate and aid elimination in the digestive system. They also help purify the liver by eliminating toxins and waste products.

Lemon juice is also very good at clarifying your hair to remove hair product build up. Women with dark hair can use lemon juice to add golden and red highlights to your hair. Women with blonde hair can use it to lighten your blonde color. This is easy to do just by squeezing the juice from 1/2 lemon (or more) into your hair and sitting out in the sun for an hour. Shampoo and condition afterwards for shinier hair and hair that reflects more highlights and feels cleaner!

Please don’t microwave your fresh lemons to help make juicing them easier! Why? Microwaves change the polarity of the ‘molecular structure on a cellular level’ of whatever you’re ‘nuking’. In other words, it changes whatever you’re cooking or heating up. It also destroys a lot of the nutrients in the process. It’s a much better idea to just roll lemons under pressure on a counter top. You’ll get all of the juice that way too!

It is imperative that you get both water and lemon in your diet, if you want to stay healthy and preserve your beauty. When you mix them together to make lemon water, you get a healthy way to replenish and rejuvenate your body.
