Set Up Your Own Proxy Website

By Ezday On February 28, 2010 No Comments

Browsing anonymously is very simple. You go to one of the free proxy websites, enter target address and you get the desired page without exposing your data to that page. While this is free and you hide your IP address, you still present your data to one server or website. You never know what is this server doing with your data. The best solution would be to have your own proxy. This way you would have total control over what data is stored and how this data is used.

To set up a proxy website is pretty simple. There are many free scripts available on web. Simply search for “proxy script” and you will get a lot of choices. One popular script is Glype. This is a free web-based PHP script. This script downloads web pages and forwards them to your browser. The script is in fact a complete website with only one function: to act as a proxy between your computer and the destination web server where your wanted page is hosted. Most such scripts have plenty of parameters to configure, but default values work well in most situations.

To install a web proxy scrip you need hosting as for any other type of website. The installation is usually very simple. You downland the script, unpack it, configure some data like password for administration or cache time and your files are ready to be uploaded to the web server. Once the script is there it is already operational. Of course, this depends on each script, you should always follow the installation instructions. The Glype script needs no special installation–it is a plug and play application. Once you have a proxy page you can use it to browse anonymously without worrying who will examine your data. Such scripts need little maintenance. You only need to periodically check the log files for anything unusual.

To host a web proxy you don’t need a separate domain name. You can install it into a separate folder on your existing website. You can access it by simply entering you domain and the folder where your script is located. Proxy servers usually provide caching functions. This can significantly increase access speeds for frequently visited websites. You can also block certain IP addresses if you would like to prevent access for some users.

Having your own proxy website is a good idea. When you will need total anonymity you will know where to go. Nobody will check your log files and nobody will intercept the data that you will transfer while browsing.

Easy Ways to Give Your Home an Exotic Look

By Ezday On February 28, 2010 No Comments

It used to be that people would have to travel abroad to find and collect exotic treasures and decor to display in their home. It was usually only the wealthy that could afford the time and money, traveling to exotic locations in search of cultural artifacts to proudly display. Exotic decor not only enhanced the look of one’s home, it also provided interesting and stimulating conversation pieces.

Today, we literally have the world at our fingertips with access to the internet. One no longer has to invest the time and expense of personally voyaging to the far corners of the Earth to be able to find and collect exotic or cultural decor. While missing the adventure of the journey itself is arguably a disadvantage, you can still bring an exotic energy and experience to the look of your home without ever having to leave it. These beautiful treasures can be conveniently delivered right to your doorstep.

The first thing to do is decide what type of exotic decor appeals to you. For example, you could use the term “Asian Decor” to search for decorating ideas. You might be surprised how many different cultures and styles of decor you would find using these keywords on different search engines, websites and online directories. Asia is the largest continent in the world and includes 69 different countries. So a search for “Asian Decor” could bring back results such as oriental style decor, (which could include styles influenced from cultures found in China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam) middle Eastern or Persian styles, art and decor from India, Arabia and even Russian decor. As you discover the abundance and diversity of culture and style this vast continent has to offer, you may need to narrow your search using the terms that best describe the style of decor you are most interested in.

Another style of decor that brings an exotic feel to your home is tropical decor. This is the type of decor that you would expect to see in a luxury island resort. Tropical style decorating typically includes a lot of pastel or natural colors in varying shades of blue, green, beige, pink, orange and brown. These colors mimic the shades found naturally occuring in the ocean, coral, seashells, beaches, sand, palm trees, bright blue skies and sultry sunsets. You can also use bright, vivid colors in shades of red, yellow, orange, green and purple to represent the gorgeous and striking shades found in tropical flowers, tropical birds, tropical fish and coral reefs. Natural elements and textures are important aspects of tropical style decor. Examples of this include furniture and decor made from tropical plants like bamboo, teak, rattan and abaca. One benefit of decorating with products made from these plants is that they are considered sustainable or renewable resources. This is because these types of plants grow very rapidly and controlled harvesting of them actually promotes rapid regrowth. Other items found in tropical areas that help bring natural elements and textures into a tropical decorating theme include seashells, coral, starfish, polished stones, sand and tropical plants such as palms and ferns. Although making a trip to the tropics to acquire ideas and materials would be preferred by most, online shopping makes an easy, convenient alternative. The casual, natural, relaxed atmosphere that a tropical theme can bring to your home is an appealing idea after a hard day of work at the office, job site, etc.

There are many ways to add an exotic touch to any space. So many different styles and mediums of art are an excellent source for inspiration. Metal wall art is a great way to add both texture an dimension. Copper is often used by artists because of it’s versatility. Copper looks beautiful when its polished and shiny but can also be chemically treated to create intensely interesting patterns and designs in the finish. Even leaving copper exposed to the elements results in a naturally occurring, protective coating called patina. Some prefer this antique look.

Hand blown art glass is another highly sought after collectible art. Watching a professional glass blower create this exotic art can be absolutely mesmerizing. The results are an infinite combination of colors, shapes and designs. A glass blower might create a piece that looks identical to a beautiful seashell or create a completely abstract sculpture. Glass blowing is a technique hundreds of years old. Hand blown art glass makes a great conversation piece, a unique gift and can easily become a collector’s passion. Some people even take up glass blowing as a hobby.

Exotic can mean something of foreign origin or something not native to your area. Collecting and displaying artifacts, tools and art from different tribal cultures is a common way to add an exotic element to any decorating theme. This can include artifacts from different areas of the country or all over the world. Many people love to collect and display artifacts from different Native American tribes. Art and decor from Mexico is also hugely popular. Tribal African art and exotic animal prints such as cheetah, leopard, tiger, giraffe and zebra are excellent ways to add an exotic look. The possibilities are endless. So even if you haven’t traveled abroad, the only limitation to an exotically decorated home is your own imagination.

What Can You Do With a WordPress Blog?

By Ezday On February 28, 2010 No Comments

WordPress Blogs allow for a lot of flexibility. Here are three great ways to use a blog for business.

Blog

Of course a blog is an option, and a good option. There are many bloggers online making a great income. You can use blogs for much more than your sole business plan, however. Plans are great additions to many businesses, no matter what you are selling. You can use a blog to help promote your service based business by providing information on your services and why they are helpful. You can use a blog to help you sell more physical products by giving great information about their uses and unique features.

Website

I’m sure you already know what a website is, but did you know you can use WordPress to build one? Many people think of WordPress as just a blogging platform but it can be much more than that. There are many savvy theme designers out there who can create wonderful themes that turn your blog into a full blown magazine site, or corporate style site or even a real estate site. You can also hire people to customize your theme to have a completely original website created on a very easy to use piece of software.

BlogSite

A blogsite is a great use of the WordPress system because it combines the best of both worlds with both a blog and a website. With a blogsite you set yourself up with main ‘pages’ that contain content that is pretty static in nature. This might be where you would promote your products or services, give more information about yourself and give your contact information. Then you would also have a section of the website for your blog. The big advantage to having a blogsite is that it’s all in one system. In the past people would pay thousands of dollars for a regular, html website and then add a blog later. Now you can really simplify and save money by putting it all together.

Membership Site

Another use for WordPress that many people are interested in is it’s ability to also be a membership site. There are membership plugins you can now buy that make it quick and easy to set up your own website using WordPress as the forum for your material.

No matter how you use the program understanding what is possible will help you optimize this great piece of software that is available for free with most major hosting companies.

Simple Steps to Create a Live Website From Scratch

By Ezday On February 27, 2010 No Comments

There are only few simple steps from the idea to the live and operating website. In general it is not a good idea to hurry with page design and domain registration. Domain name should be properly chosen and because most words or word phrases are already registered, this will be a difficult task. Page design is also very important. It should provide easy navigation and reflect the basic message of the website. However, if you are determined to create a website from scratch then you should go through the following steps.

Domain
This is the name in the web space. If you will have a general website then you need to register it under general purpose top level domains like com, org, net or info. If you will have pages in native language then you can go for a country domains like at, de, nl, it, etc. Registration is a fast and simple process. You go to a registrar (google for “domain registration”), create an account, log in and proceed to registration. Enter desired name and if it is not registered yet simply proceed to the checkout where you can pay online and the domain will be yours. If it is already registered then you will have to find a new name or different “extension”. Start with com and if it is not available there then try with org or net.

Hosting
Once you have the domain you need web hosting to store and serve web pages. Many registrars offer also hosting and many hosting companies offer also domains. Usually this combined deal will not be the cheapest but will definitely be the fastest way to create a live website. Once you create an account you will get the IP address of your web server and access to the control panel. If you have chosen a different company for domain registration then log in to control panel and create a DNS A record with hosting IP address. This will link your domain with the web server. The propagation of this data may take some time, even day or two. To access your web page before the DNS data is propagated through the web you can add a line in your hosts file. Google for “hosts file” to find out how to do it.

Content Management System
Now you have everything needed to create your first web page. It can be a simple HTML file, but a much better choice would be to use some CMS like Joomla. It is free, easy to install and easy to use. Go to Joomla website and download the latest version. Upload it to your web server and unpack the archive file. This can be done with the file manager at the hosting control panel or with some additional script. You can also unpack it locally and upload individual files. Before you start the installation you need to create one MySQL database. Go to hosting control panel and create one database. Remember database name, user name and password. Now you can start the Joomla installation. Simply enter your domain into web browser and you should get Joomla installation page. Follow the steps and enter database data when requested. At the end you should have a live website. Now you create some pages about your brilliant idea.

Of course, in reality these steps are much slower. Before you start with any website you should do some preparation. You should find a suitable domain name that is not registered yet. Then you need to find a cheap registrar and a cheap and reliable hosting. This also takes some time. Once you have domain and hosting you can start exploring the world of Joomla or any other CMS. If your website will be a blog then you will probably use WordPress. Anyway, in theory all the steps are very simple. In practice, the whole process takes a lot of time.

Dissolve Destructive Behavioral Problems Caused by Trauma – Practice 21-Day Rule to Break a Habit

By Ezday On February 27, 2010 No Comments

Have you experienced pain in your life? As a result, have you fallen into destructive behaviors of anger, depression, guilt or shame? Is there an easy way to end pain and any associated emotional responses? What is one such practical solution?

The physical body operates on impulses received from the brain. According to scientific research, the brain is similar to the electric circuitry in your home. There are lines, or pathways, on which the current runs and connects to other lines, providing great sources of energy, and in turn, lighting up different areas of the home. In the human body, these pathways ‘light up’ different areas of the body, allowing them to operate.

Scientists have also determined that the more one feels and focuses on a thought, the stronger and more defined these pathways become in the brain. In fact, it takes 21 days of repeated thought patterns, without interruption to stabilize these conduits. In effect, if you focus on something for 21 straight days, it becomes a habit, as you etch new connectors into the circuitry of your brain.

When you experience emotional or physical trauma, damage can occur to the connectors already inside your brain. That distress can effectively cut the free-flowing constructive pathways in your brain. Therefore, the pain may have diminished your previous happiness and joy. Furthermore, you may begin to dwell on destructive thoughts of sadness, anger, and guilt instead of feeling constructive, happy thoughts.

As shown, if you think you are in pain and are angry, sad, or guilty for 21 days or longer, then you retrace a new connector, forming a habit. However, the new link made up of these destructive emotions will not generate constructive emotions, but will only further exacerbate your pain.

What is the answer to change the pattern and break a bad habit? Could it be a choice to work at changing the pattern, similar to dieting to lose weight? With continued effort, it is possible to see effective results using the scientific method of the 21-day rule for forming a habit. Therefore, might it be beneficial for you to redirect your energy, thoughts and feelings to happy thoughts to enjoy a joyful life again?

The P90X Workout – How I Changed From a Couch Potato to a Ripped Dude in 90 Days With the P90X

By Ezday On February 27, 2010 No Comments

In case you haven’t been following any of my other articles on this whole fitness gig, let me recap briefly. After my girlfriend came right out with it and called me an out-of-shape slob to my face (yeah, it wasn’t pleasant), plus a few other choice names I’d rather not mention here in polite company, I decided to get off my butt and off my couch and jump right into the P90X workout. Why that specific plan? My best mate had been doing it for roughly 60 days and he was getting pretty good results, I have to tell you. Sure, the guy’s a real showoff and goes round flexing his brand new muscles in everyone’s face, and strips off his shirt at the drop of a hat and sucks in his gut and pushes out his chest so we can all admire his new ripped set of six-packs. Yeah, it’s pretty painful, I know. Guys like that usually make me wanna throw up, but he’s my friend so I’m prepared to make allowances, know what I mean?

Anyway, after I had this wake-up call – courtesy of my girlfriend, on account of her calling me a slob to my face an’ all – I decided to sign up for the P90X workout. I mean, if it was working so well for my buddy, it could work for me too, right? Okay. Sure. I get it. You’re just a little more than curious about how the P90X workout works. I mean, from slob to ripped abs in 90 days – that’s a big ask, isn’t it?

Okay. Let’s get one thing straight right away. P90X is not for sissies. So, if you’re going to cry like a girl every time you have sore muscles after a workout forget it. Don’t bother to go any further. Save yourself the trouble and head on back to the couch with your sack of junk food and your belly full of beer. Just don’t blame anyone but yourself when your wife/girlfriend/friends/colleagues call you a slob to your face. And don’t go getting all teary-eyed with a quivering lip every time you catch that horrible glimpse of your beer gut and love handles in the steamed up shower mirror neither. My best advice to you on that score? Don’t look. Turn away and save yourself the hurt, man.

But if you’ve got the guts to do this thing, if you’re serious about manning up and getting into shape, the first thing you’ve got to remember is this: no pain, no gain. Forget those poncey sites online that promise you six-pack abs and a set of ripped muscles that would make Mr Universe cringe with envy – all for doing no work and maybe just popping a few pills or a bunch of “magic” supplements. It’s not going to happen, dude. We’re not talking Harry Potter here. Let’s get down to reality. I’m being serious.

Working on your body is hard work; don’t let anyone kid you otherwise. Anyone who says it’s easy and can be done with a few pills and minimum sweat is scamming you big time. This P90X workout is hard graft – but it works. But you’ve gotta put in the work every day, maybe 60 – 90 minutes a day – except on Sundays. That’s when you take a break. That’s snuggling on the couch time with your girl who is so turned on by your hot new bod she can hardly keep her dainty little mitts off you….lol. That’s called the cherry on top. Great new bod. Ripped, lean muscles. Respect. Your girl/wife goes weak at the knees and get’s turned on every time she looks at you these days. Where’s the hardship in that, dude? It kinda makes it all worthwhile doesn’t it? Sure it does! Trust me.

How Can You Promote Your Network Marketing Opportunity?

By Ezday On February 26, 2010 No Comments

You’ve found that perfect network marketing opportunity. You love the products, you love the plan, you love the people above you. Everything’s looking great. Now you just need to get people buying products from you and signing up under you. So much to do.

Fortunately, many opportunities allow you to promote your business online. Not all of them do, and most have rules about what you may and may not do, so be careful and follow the rules so that you don’t lose your business.

Start a Blog

Well, it doesn’t really have to be a blog, but some sort of website under your own domain name, with your own words talking about your business and your products is really helpful. Blogging is one of the easiest ways to do that, especially if you aren’t into website design.

Get some quality hosting and install WordPress on your site. It’s really easy, and if you don’t want to do it manually, most hosts offer installation through Fantastico on the control panel. It’s not a big deal.

You’ll want to find a good WordPress theme that you can adapt to your own style. You may need to pay for help or buy a theme that is made to be changed around and work through it on your own. But you don’t want to look like hundreds of other sites if you can help it.

Then get started. Write about how to use your products. Be personal. Be honest. Be really honest, as you don’t want to be accused of making false claims. Be ready to back up any claims you do make. Once again, know the rules of your opportunity. And promote the opportunity.

Start an Email List

A blog or website really isn’t enough. You want to sign up with a good email service and have it send updates from your blog to subscribers. Some people may choose to subscribe via the RSS feed that WordPress blogs come up with, but you really need to offer them the email option.

The advantage is that you can offer email-only specials to your subscribers, things you don’t want to necessarily post on a blog because you’d have to take them down when they expire.

The other advantage is that it gives you more chances to make the first and future sales to your visitors. Whatever you do, know the rules and don’t be afraid to ask your upline for help when in doubt about something you want to do. It’s better to be sure that you’ll be all right and not hurt your business.

3 Easy Ways to Improve Your Article Click Through Rate by 100% or More

By Ezday On February 26, 2010 No Comments

Who else wants to improve their click through rate on the articles you submit to external directories? If you’ve been article marketing for any length of time, you certainly recognize how important a robust click through rate is, right? The difference between a 10% click through rate and a 20% COULD be the difference between quitting your day job and working from home, and never quite getting far enough over the hump to make the leap.

The truth is pretty simple…..

The more people who click through from the directory to your site, the MORE money you are going to make. Period. Where I see most people drop the ball, is in the resource box. I don’t care how good your article is…..if you fail to compel, coerce or cajole folks to WANT to learn more about what you’ve got to say, they simply won’t. (and will most likely move on to someone else’s article that does)

Here are some simple and easy ways to double, or even triple your resource box conversion percentage in super short order:

Conversational Consistency:

If you’ve got a list of 3 items in your article, your resource box should be another list item. So if your article is the top 4 ways to do something, if you make the resource box a “bonus” item, it appears to be a much more natural component and extension of your content. (rather than a transparently self serving attempt to get your visitor to click on a link)

Use a Photo in your Resource Box:

Now, I know what you’re thinking – it’s easy for me to say considering I’m lucky enough to have transcendently good looks, super white teeth and a magically magnetic sense of personal style And I appreciate the compliment. I’m also a good tennis player, too.

But the fact is, a photo, regardless of what you look like, offers a sense of trust. It adds a layer of connectivity to your content and adds a bit of intrigue to want to learn more about you on a personal level. And in my view, content creation (and ultimately conversion) is ALL about connecting with people. The more “bonding” you are able to do with the elements you have available in the limited space an article offers you, the more people will want to “leave” to learn more on your site.

Entertain, Engage and Ask Questions!

Want to know the truth? I HATE article authors who are “know it all’s”. There really aren’t any “secrets” and “long lost secrets” to achieving success in ANY niche. It’s about being unique.

Being funny. Being entertaining, engaging and open. People connect, FAR better with your content, and ultimately will click through to your offers in FAR higher bunches when you are HUMAN….and not a HERO. Ask questions of your reader. Ask them to participate on the “other side”….and you’ll be amazed at how receptive folks are to not only do what you ask…..but become friends, fans and customers shortly thereafter to boot!

Free MLM Leads – Building on a Budget – Turn an Article Into a Blog Post

By Ezday On February 26, 2010 No Comments

This is the fourth part in an eight part series about article marketing and how to use it effectively to obtain free MLM leads. This article will deal with turning your article into a blog post.

This should be a fairly simple process but has some important parts that if followed will send more prospects to your website. This step of article writing should be done before submitting the article to the directories. The reason for this is to be able to place the link to your blog page in the resource box of the article in order to drive traffic to your blog from the article itself.

I usually write the article in an article submission program first (I don’t actually use the software to submit the article I just use it to write the article because I like the format of the software). Then before submitting to the directories I can insert the link from my blog site in the resource box which will direct prospects to my blog.

One more thing needs to be said about the resource box. Most directories will allow at least two links in the resource box. It is a good idea to use both of the links to promote your opportunity. I usually, not always, but usually link the article to the source of the article which is my blog, but I also link the article to a lead capture page that I have produces which encourages people to look further into the opportunity that I am promoting. If the wording of the resource box is done in a thoughtful way, the resource box can actually drive traffic that would not normally click on your link.

As I have mentioned above, I use and article submission program to write the article. One of the reasons for doing that is to avoid any problems with my webpage recognizing the writing format of the article, such as paragraph placement or return key strokes and so on. Notepad on your computer will do the same thing, it’s just not as convenient as an article submitter. It will help avoid any problems transferring the article from blog to directory and vice versa. The submitter will also insert links in HTML format that can be a pain if you aren’t familiar with how to do that. Another good source for HTML links is MySpace Clickable Link Generator. Just type those four words into your browser address bar and it will direct you to where you can find the link to the site. Once you are on the site, you can generate the link, copy it and then paste it wherever you want. Works great!

The best blog platform to use for your blog, in my opinion, is WordPress. Almost all, if not all, of the major network marketing “gurus” use WordPress and their is a good reason for it. WordPress has a huge number of themes that can be downloaded, some for free and some that cost, that are available all over the internet. The second reason is because of its ease of use and availability of add ons and plug ins. It also has ping and trackback capabilities that most others do not. Just the fact that it is more user friendly that most others is a determining factor for me.

Adding the article to your blog should be a fairly simple task once the previously mentioned prerequisites are met. Make sure they are met before actually submitting the article to the directories.
