Get Out of Debt

Are you struggling to work out how you should be dealing with debts? Rest assured you are not alone, as more and more people are struggling to deal with their unsecured debts due to rising living costs and a lack of willingness to lend by most high-street banks.

You don’t have to worry about dealing with debts alone, there are companies our there that are willing to help you leave your debt worries behind and look forward to a debt free future. No matter how much debt you have or how many unsecured creditors you owe money to, it is never too late to seek out ways of dealing with debts.

There are a number of debt solutions on the market which are all designed to help you deal with debts and reduce your monthly payments to your creditors. These include:

Debt Management Programme – The debt management programme is offered by many financial solutions companies across the country. They are designed to offer you a reduced payment to your creditors. Making your unsecured debts more affordable means that you can keep to a good standard of living without having to worry about missing payments to your unsecured debt, but it is likely that the length of time you will be paying back this debt will increase.

Debt management programmes are only really suitable for those with debt which is less than £12,000, if your debt is higher than this level and you are struggling then you may be more suitable for an IVA.

IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangements) – IVA’s were introduced as a more realistic alternative to bankruptcy for those who are struggling with high levels of debt. Once accepted onto an IVA, the average term is 60 months. During this IVA term you must commit to making a set reduced payment to your IVA. This will be distributed amongst your creditors who will write off any unpaid debt upon completion of an IVA.

An IVA is a legally binding contract between you and your unsecured creditors so it is essential that you continue to make the payments to your creditors so you do not have to risk bankruptcy.

These are just two of the ways which you could be dealing with you debt. The best way to go about dealing with your debts and to become debt free is to get in contact with a company which can offer you the full range of debt solutions.

Canadian Auto Workers Union Getting Desperate

By Ezday On April 5, 2009 No Comments

Canadian Auto Workers are taking things into their own hands after implementing what they called the Buy Domestic and Manufacturing Matter campaign. The Local 222 which represents the workers at the GM plants in Canada is asking employees that are not driving GM-manufactured vehicle be forced to pay parking fee of $100 per year. Aside from that they will also be designated to park at the most remote areas at GM parking lots.

According to Keith Osborne, plant chairman, “It sends a message to our membership that it is important to support the industry.” He also said that the policy will reward those who are loyal to GM brand and the proceeds from the fee will be donated to a local charity.

Mr. Osborne has also written GM President Arturo Elias of the union plans to go on fighting for the future of manufacturing jobs in Canada. The letter dated June 12, 2007 state: “Our experience is that people need to understand there are economic consequences that accompany their choice of vehicle.”

Unfortunately GM management did not support such move of the Union. Stew Low spokesman for GM Canada said that the company does not agree on imposing parking fees for employees’ not driving GM-manufactured vehicle. He also added that the company does not believe that implementing such fee would encourage loyalty.

He further added, “It is our desire that consumers will choose GM vehicles because they are high quality, offer the safety features and value — warranty coverage, OnStar, XM radio — they are looking for. While we appreciate the idea to promote GM cars and trucks, we have decided not to move forward with the idea the union presented as some of those non-GM vehicles may belong to visitors (or) suppliers.”

The Union has already started implementing a similar policy in its own lots by preventing the entry of vehicles not built by Detroit’s Big Three — namely General Motors (producer of GMC fuel saver), Ford, and Chrysler. All vehicles that are manufactured by foreign automakers have to park at the remote corner of the lot.

Local 222 President Chris Buckley said that policy aims to educate people on the importance of purchasing North American-made vehicles especially employees of GM who own non-GM brand vehicles and who make their living from GM.

Mr. Buckley also added, “For the most part, our members that we represent at General Motors, drive GM vehicles or Big Three vehicles. There are a lot of contractors who get hired by General Motors for different projects — people who are not represented by Local 222 or CAW — (and) although they are being hired to perform a task by General Motors and being paid by General Motors, they are driving imported vehicles. Shame on them. If they’re earning money from General Motors, they should be buying and driving a GM product.”

Paradise Awaits You

Paradise Awaits You

The earth we inhabit is full of wondrous and magnificent places to visit, but life often seems too short to experience even a fraction of them. If you are like most people, you probably get one vacation a year. You go, you enjoy, then in a flash it’s over, and it’s back to work, life, stress, and deadlines. What a harsh reality. Who are the lucky few that can afford to take life by the horns and travel world at their leisure? Right now, there is someone in Italy enjoying a glass of cabernet, swinging slowly in a hammock, in the middle of a breezy Tuscan vineyard. Not your style, that’s fine. Think about where you would rather be right now, and then imagine it becoming a reality. This exercise is known to relieve stress, but nothing compares to actually living your life on vacation.

Face it, life is tough and it’s always demanding more. The daily struggles and obstacles of this world can really ware you down. Monday mornings sure don’t feel like a vacation. Jobs are definitely not like vacations in any shape or form, and that’s why they call them jobs. Work hard at a dead end job for the rest of your life and then be buried in this giant ball of mud that you’ve never had the opportunity to explore. Unfortunately, this scenario is a fairly accurate depiction of an average person’s life.

Benjamin Franklin once said that “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.’ Newsflash, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Paradise, or a better way of life, awaits anyone who is willing to go out and get it. Could it really be that easy? It would be priceless to have a mentor or friend who could lead you down the path to financial and emotional freedom, and show how to make your own luck. You could be your own boss, make your own hours, and globe trot anytime, and anywhere. If you felt like working out of Hawaii next week, you could. Envision having a bank account full of money, and it just won’t stop growing. Does this sound too good to be true? It really boils down to two simple words; residual income. Residual income is the key to wealth and creates millionaires.

Whether your idea of paradise is a clear lagoon in Aruba or wild weekend in Vegas, it requires money to live out these fantasies, and money doesn’t grow on trees. America is in the midst of a horrible economic crisis; people are losing there jobs and companies are shutting their doors. A new president isn’t going to solve these issues overnight. There has never been a better time for people to seek new opportunities and start creating their own fortunes.

If you are dreaming of a new way of life, a better income, or the opportunity to be your own boss, then www.thewaytorealwealth.com can help. Online marketing is exciting and is still in its infancy stages, and knowing how to navigate the internet for profit is going to be a necessary skill that people will need to possess in the future. Jesse McClung and Jeremy Lee, out of Macon, GA are two of the best mentors in the industry and are searching for quality people to join their team in the Little Guy Network. This business is fully automated, has super low start up and maintenance costs, pays residual income, and is EASY to do. Plus, as a member, you get unlimited travel vouchers to so many unique destinations. Take me down to the Paradise City where the grass is green and the girls are pretty….oh baby please take me home. Visit www.thewaytorealwealth.com, leave us your contact information, and watch the videos to learn more about this eye opening opportunity.

Mexico Mail: It’s not for Everybody

By Ezday On April 2, 2009 No Comments
mail carriers

Richard Villasana asked:

You are doing business with a company in Mexico. You need to receive documents from this company or a government office. Who do you call? It is probably not Mexico’s postal service unless you like living on the edge and wondering if your documents will ever arrive.

Mexico’s Postal Service, SEPOMEX

In the March 25, 2006 issue of the Economist, an article focused on Mexico’s national mail service, Servicio Postal Mexicano or Sepomex. The focus of the article, “On Mexican time” was an evaluation of the efficiency of Sepomex today compared to years past. Sepomex, much as the U.S. Postal Service, constitutionally has a monopoly for delivery of letters and small packages.

Gonzalo Alarcon, General Director of Sepomex, is quoted as saying “Delivery times are acceptable.” Government statistics seem to support this statement showing 95% of the mail arrives between one to ten days to the intended destination.

Worry if they say it’s in the mail

However, in a June 2005 article titled “Aviso: `el correo mexicano no es confiable`” (Warning: Mexican mail [service] isn’t reliable), journalist Samuel Garcia of “El Observador” starts with a couple of questions. “Do you have trust in the Mexican mail service?” and more importantly, “Do you trust that your documents and information will arrive at their destination?” According to Sr. Garcia, the majority of those polled gave a resounding “NO”.

Sr. Garcia wrote that during a candid interview, Sr. Alarcon said that Sepomex is incapable of supporting their service obligations. The inefficiencies and security risks were seen as very grave. During a talk that same month with the Commission de Governance of the House of Deputies, Sr. Alarcon said he could not guarantee the safe delivery of electoral (and highly secret) documents for the upcoming 2006 presidential election.

These documents only have to go from the Mexico City International Airport to the offices of IFE, Mexico’s Federal Institution of Elections, and yet the security of these documents was definitely in question a year ago. Electoral documents apparently were delivered without issue during the 2006 presidential election.

How to mail it with confidence

So you may be asking, “What does this have to do with me and my company?” It means if you want to receive documents from Mexico, you should request they be sent using an international carrier such as FedEx or UPS. One excellent benefit with these services is the tracking. Another benefit is that you are virtually guaranteed you will get your documents.

The reverse is also true. If you are going to send documents to Mexico, use an international carrier. You may be thinking, “Who wouldn’t use a service such as FedEx, UPS or DHL?” You might be surprised.

Don’t let this happen to you!

A few years ago, I was assisting a well known German medical device company. They had an office in the U.S. that was getting ready to market one of their products in Mexico. The product required safety testing and certification before it could be shipped and sold in Mexico.

The Mexican certification process has time limits. If the testing and documents are not received and approved by the appropriate certification agency in Mexico City within the established time frame, the testing can be voided. If this happens, the certification process has to start all over again including paying for the testing, documentation and approval process.

Testing was done quickly. Test documents were properly signed and notarized then sent to the U.S. executive overseeing the process. Documents were sent overnight. The executive signed the documents. A few days later, the package had not arrived at the Mexico office so our company contacted the executive. Yes, the documents had been signed. Yes, he had told his secretary to mail out the documents.

We learned a week later that the secretary was not made aware of the importance of these documents. She had sent the documents including the original testing documents with Mexican government seals and signatures with only first class postage to Mexico. The documents finally arrived after three weeks even though first class postage is insufficient for international delivery. The company was lucky and was able to receive their certification.

Mailing recommendations

If you are in Mexico and want to send documents or a small package back to the U.S., use a delivery service. If you are sending documents, especially those that are time sensitive, absolutely use a specialty carrier. Your business is too important and the risks too great to gamble with normal mail unless you are doing a direct mail campaign.

As a finally note, educate those in your company who will also be involved in working with Mexico. Let them be aware that mailing a letter or package internationally isn’t the same as mailing it domestically. Sending documents with the appropriate postage and service will ensure the mail is one less issue you have to worry about as you do business with Mexico.

The Credit Crunch: a Wake Up Call for Consumers

By Ezday On March 26, 2009 No Comments

Edward Jamison asked:

Over the last several months we’ve seen our economy take a severe beating. It started with the mortgage meltdown and is now seeping its way through Wall Street, the stock market and straight toward the credit card issuers. There are also signs that this trend is trickling down and now beginning to impact aspects of the consumer credit lending environment. These factors alone leave little doubt that we’re facing one of the most severe economic environments since the great depression.

While financial analysts and economists continue to debate over the impact that the $700 billion bailout will have on the average American consumer, none of us really knows for sure what will happen over the next 12 to 24 months. What we do know is that lenders have already begun to tighten up their lending requirements and this means continued changes in the consumer credit environment as this crisis evolves. It also means that many Americans are facing a stern wakeup call in regards to the way we currently view and manage our credit.

It doesn’t take a financial genius to figure out that the mortgage industry’s lending practices were in dire need of a complete facelift. Two years ago, you could pretty much qualify for a mortgage with a minimum FICO score of 580 — as long as you had a pulse. Not enough consideration was given to whether or not you could actually afford the loan or whether or not you had a high risk of defaulting on the loan itself.

These days ‘easy money’ is a thing of the past. To give you an idea of how things have changed, in order to get the best deal on a mortgage today you’re going to need a score in the 720+ range. And the score alone won’t guarantee an approval – you’ll also need to meet the new income and collateral requirements. And if you think this is only happening in the mortgage industry, think again.

We’re also beginning to see changes in the auto and credit card industries. Take GMAC for example, who recently announced that they would no longer approve loans for consumers that had FICO scores below 700. Other lenders like USAA, have not only increased their score cutoffs on their auto loans, but also on credit card and personal loan approvals. See the pattern? Make no mistake, lenders across the board are becoming more cautious and are beginning to safeguard themselves by looking for borrowers that pose less of a risk. Less risk means higher credit scores and more lenders are going to place even more emphasis on your credit scores and credit report data.

So how does this impact the rest of us? The current state of our economy has many of us worrying about what tomorrow may bring. This means that a lot of us will need to take a step back, re-evaluate the way we manage our finances and our credit obligations, and start living within our means instead of beyond them. There are two important lessons that we can learn from this debacle:

Credit isn’t a right – it’s a privilege. How we manage our credit reports and credit scores are a direct reflection of our credit risk. For high scorers (750-780+), the credit crunch probably won’t impact your ability to obtain credit when you need it. But for those that have not so great credit and credit scores, it’s going to be even more important than ever.

It’s time to start living within our means. That’s right, it’s time to take a step back and reevaluate our relationship with money and realize that if you can’t afford something, then you shouldn’t be buying it. This means reevaluating how and why we use credit cards. Is it to live an unrealistic lifestyle? If so, time to make the change.

The current financial crisis is a wakeup call for all of us. And while many blame the current crisis on the sub-prime mortgage industry giving loans to consumers that shouldn’t have been approved in the first place, (which may be true) — we can’t ignore the fact that consumers that got themselves into these loans should at least share a part of the responsibility. At some point, we all need to accept responsibility and be accountable for our own actions.

Applying for Government Grants for Debt and Personal Use

By Ezday On March 16, 2009 No Comments
applying for a government grant

Marjorie Salada asked:

Do you have debt? Are you looking for a way of eliminating that debt? Applying for government grants for debt and personal use is one method of searching for debt relief. With the economy being unkind right now, the government has come up with a number of programs that will help people with their debts. There are also programs available to assist you with keeping your home.

You may as well take the time to see what assistance is available to you in the form of government grants, before you turn to more drastic measures for debt relief. The government offers grants for any number of things and right now housing and debt relief programs are common due to the struggles people are having with the housing industry and the economy as a whole.

The government gives away a great deal of money each year and it may as well be you that gets some of it. The big problem is finding out how and where you can apply for these government grants. You may be able to get some of your information from websites or organizations affiliated with the type of grant you are interested in applying for, such as universities having information on education grants.

There are also organizations that offer assistance in finding and applying for government grants. Since government money changes as it becomes on hand and is used up or expires, you need a current list of what money the government has available.

The government offers grant programs based on many different criteria to help individuals start a business, manage necessary expenses and get training for career advancement. There are many little known programs that can help you prepare for your future.

Government grants can help you get what you want, but keep in mind there is usually something in it for the government. They give grants for things that are going to benefit the community. They give grants to people that are unemployed, so they can get the training necessary to be able to earn a living. They give grants to people wanting to start a small business that has something to offer the community. The government gives grants to people who have served their country.

Are you wondering if there is a grant available for your dream? There just might be, but you will not know unless you look. Government grants can get you want step closer to realizing your dream.

Home Decorating – Leading the Simple Life

By Ezday On March 15, 2009 No Comments

Are you thinking of living the simple life? Are you ready to get rid of all of your excess clutter and to have a clean, austere living space? Here are some interior decorating tips to have you well on your way to getting that simple living space that you are looking for.

Let us start with the kitchen…

You cannot go wrong with stainless steel. Go for a stainless steel fridge and other appliances. Pick out a stainless steel countertop or backsplash. You can even go with stainless steel cabinets. Of course, you do not want everything to be made of stainless steel – that would be a bit of overkill. Choose just a few components, and try to keep everything else simple. Pick out clean, white cabinets with no extra detailing, for instance.

Color scheme…

Just because you have decided to have a modern, clean-cut home, it does not mean that you cannot have any color. You can use a little color – “little” being the key word. Keep your walls a solid color of light grays, light beiges, whites, or maybe even a grayish blue or grayish yellow. Try to keep these colors muted. You can, however, pick out one bold painting to hang on your wall — maybe a painting of giant, bright orange poppies, for example, with no other paintings or pictures nearby. There is no reason to overcrowd your walls. Choose a painting that you love, because it is really going to stand out!

The floors…

Stick to tiles, hardwood, bamboo, or even concrete if possible. A light colored carpet is also fine, but it does not give the cold, clean look that these other floors do.

The storage…

Storage is key when you are living the simple life of decorating. There must be a place for everything and everything in its place. It must be possible to fully hide your TV and all wires and gadgets that go along with it. The same is true of stereos and other such equipment. Nothing will ruin the look that you are going for, quite like items that have strayed from their proper places. All clothes must be in the closet, toothbrushes in the cabinet, books in the book cases, pots in the cabinet, etc.

The removal…

Get rid of any extra, unnecessary items that you have. You will be amazed at how great it feels to finally get rid of your college philosophy notes, old letters, old clothing, old presents, and other items that you no longer need (nor did you ever really need them…) The less “stuff” you have, the easier it will be for you to keep your stuff tidy and put away in your storage spaces.

The decorations…

Keep the number of decorations that you have very limited. You only need one or two paintings on a wall, one item on a fireplace mantle, no items on the coffee table, etc.

The furniture…

Pick out furniture with straight, clean lines. No fluffy couches, no floral patterns, no extra and unnecessary pillows. Few round tables. Leather couches are a great choice. Have as few pieces of furniture as possible.

You will love leading the clean and simple life. When you wipe your home free of clutter, it is like wiping your entire mind – your entire life – free of clutter, as well. Nothing can open up your room (or your life) and make it seem bigger, quite like following the aforementioned tips can.
